Riding out

Local riding out on Cornish country lanes from Carnwidden with a few off road bridleways. Alternatively follow the trail maps provided and transport your horse to a parking site and hack out along one of the many Cornish Trails throughout Cornwall. There are a variety of trails which are mainly off-road showing you parts of Cornwall that most tourists do not see. There are woodland, moorland, farmland and beach rides many of which have horse-friendly country pubs along the way so you can stop for refreshments.

For example:

  • 'The Great Flat Lode' - A 71/2 mile trail through the historic landscape around Carn Brea. This being a circular route which explores one of the greatest concentrations of historic mine buildings anywhere in the world. Almost entirely off-road, the trail meanders amongst farmland and heath land with breathtaking views across the countryside to the sea beyond.
  • 'The Coast to Coast Trail'- An 11 mile trail linking the historic harbours of Portreath and Devoran. Mostly off-road except for a few road crossings and short quiet road sections. Closely following the line of two early horse-drawn tramroads and on old railway the countryside is diverse and not too strenuous.
  • 'Hayle Towans Beach' - A superb winter beach ride with glorious golden sands stretching for an incredible 3 miles. Ideal for a gallop or a great splash about.

Our plans for the future...

An extensive cross country course is planned in the next year or two so stay tuned...
